Humility

Today is Wednesday, which means it’s time for the Inspirational word of the week.

Humility: (noun) the quality or state of being humble.

“When you’re humble enough to admit your ignorance (without berating yourself), you create space for learning and growth.” Scott Noelle

A “friend” of mine responded to a comment I made (referring to a post on this blog) to someone else who commented on my FaceBook page. Although it didn’t have anything to do with her, she felt compelled to write……I have found this to be true with many people. Everyone has their own lessons and life to live, I send them blessings and let them find their own way.”

As if to tell me I shouldn’t be offering help or support. Who do I think I am, anyway?

I’d like to be able to say this comment in no way effected me. That I was able to brush it off and go about my day.  However, I am human, and I must admit that it did hurt my feelings. :(

While I made my comment trying to help my other friend feel better,(she ‘liked’ my comment) this ‘friend’ decided I needed to be knocked down a peg or two.

My first reaction was to grumble and growl and feel defensive.

Then I realized that this was the Universe’s way of waking me up with a kick to the pants!!

This comment is supposed to help stimulate my post today and so that’ exactly what it’s doing.

I won’t let this comment tear me down or make me feel stupid!rosie-the-riveter

I will use it to focus on why I write this blog.

I write it for YOU, my friendly blog reader, as well as myself!!!!

You and I both need something beautiful, up-lifting and inspiring to combat the boring, cynical, self-righteous bullshit that gets thrown at us.

Like I wrote on my About page, this blog is is dedicated to the recognition and pursuit of inspiration. When you read this blog, it’s my hope that you come away inspired and encouraged to live your life passionately!

If you read something in this blog that bothers you, or you think I’m arrogant and self-absorbed, PLEASE feel free to go find whatever it is that inspires you. That’s what really matters!!

My goal is not to become popular. I don’t expect everyone to love what I do.

I’m not writing for the masses.

visionI’m writing for YOU, my friendly blog reader!!!!

The person who has had a crummy day and comes looking for  something to make themselves feel better!

The person who is looking for an inspired point of view and a healthy perspective!

The person who needs a reminder that they are not alone, they’re understood, this road has been walked before.

Life is going to be difficult sometimes and people will say hurtful things. We can’t control that, but we can look for the lesson, take it in stride, and use that lesson as leverage to move forward.

“Humility is a virtue; but timidity is a disease.” Jim Rohn

The very best we can do is to stay grounded, realize we still have more to learn and let that lesson become an opportunity for growth.

I really appreciate you, my friendly blog reader.

crazy-hat-ladyAlthough I would still write this blog even if you weren’t there, it’s especially rewarding knowing that you ‘get’ me, you understand why I do this and you support me!!  :)

Thank you for reading along!

I’d love to read your thoughts in the comments below!

Have a great week and I’ll be back on Monday with the Inspirational song of the week.

p.s. “Fear not the slayers for their jealousy only breeds impotence! Go out and be AWESOME anyway, just because you should! I double dare you to be Sassy!  Laughter becomes you! :) Now where did I put that?…..

In response to the stormy seas of life, my husband Blake and I have created this website to be a Current of Inspiration, a wave of love and joy to wash away hate and fear. By posting every week, it's our commitment to making our world a better place. We hope you find it uplifting and will share it with your friends! Thanks for stopping by! xoxo
