It’s been a very interesting week, my friendly blog reader.

I quit my job with the Welcome Wagon. Although I really love my boss, Lisa (seriously, she’s Awesome!!), I just couldn’t keep doing the job because it was pulling my energy away from getting my book out into the world.

I also cut WAY back on the Occupy. Here’s the letter I sent out to everyone….

Hi everyone,
Although it’s difficult to say this, I have to cancel tomorrow’s meeting. Of the 37 people I contacted, only 8 replied back, with 1 and a half of those saying they would be coming to the meeting. (One person said he ‘might’ be able to make it).
That says a lot.
To be completely honest, I’m not exactly sure what we would be discussing anyway. I’ve done my best to put together the website to be a useful depository of information. And if any of you have something else you feel is important and would like to share with the group, I would be more than happy to help you put it onto the website.
However, so far as meetings go, I don’t know what else I have to offer.  If I were to try to force or cajole people into showing up for meetings, we would both end up frustrated and resentful.  That’s the exact opposite of why I’m here.
Although I want to see the problems in this country to be mended, I can’t see how a shared sense of frustration is going to create anything other than more frustration.
This country doesn’t need us to be frustrated. It needs us to feel powerful and engaged. I feel more powerful and engaged when I’m doing stuff I love to do, like volunteering at the farmer’s market and telling people about my book. (What makes you feel powerful and engaged?)
So, my friendly Occupiers, if someone else would like to step up and host meetings, Please let me know so I can share the contact list with you.
As for me, I must step back and concentrate on taking care of myself, my family and my responsibilities. My book is almost ready to be published and I’m looking forward to sharing it with as many people as it can help.
I hope to see you out and about at the BB&E farmers market, every Friday night from 6 til 9pm at Crossman Park, right behind the Pub. (click the link to see more info)
I wish you all the best and look forward to seeing you out in the community!

bounce-out-of-bedI feel soooooooo much better, I can’t even begin to tell you how much lighter I feel! Instead of worrying about how I’m going to fit everything into my life, I’ve taken some time off (finally) and given myself a chance to rest and dream. I even had a chance to sit on my back deck with my friend Barb, drinking tea and chatting under an umbrella. :) And then I spent Thursday driving around town with my friend Debbie, telling folks about the BB&E market coming up next week and collecting goodies for the Fre*e raffle bags. 4 hours in and out of the van didn’t feel like work because it makes me really and truly happy when I get to talk about the market and hang out with my friend, Debbie!

I let go of the Occupy because I realized the energy it was producing was frustrating, whereas, the farmers market is fun, helpful and consistent. Our world needs a lot more consistent fun, so by focusing my energy on promoting the market and the people and businesses that help it grow, I’ll be doing everyone a lot more good.

I’ve discovered that at my essence, I’m joyful, clear, radiant, and full of laughter and enthusiasm. When I’m in touch with my essential self, I’m generous, compassionate and funny. I love (LOVE) to give people something fun to look forward to and to be a part of something larger than myself.
loransheartprofilepicJust in time for this epiphany, Loran Hills wrote a blog post about Illuminating Spiritual Practice.  Within her post, she wrote…
We become spiritually healthy when we create meaning and purpose in life that is consistent with our own values.  It requires quiet time for meditation and or prayer.
She’s going to be writing a blog post every Monday about developing inner power and enhancing spiritual wellness. I’ve signed up to follow along. You can to, just by clicking the link and following her super simple instructions.

I’ve been meditating fairly regularly, but not for enough time. I couldn’t find enough time in my schedule to really sit back and relax. I couldn’t figure out ‘how’ I’m going to be able to afford to print and promote my book. Over the past couple of days, I’ve had a chance to think and I’ve discovered that worrying about the “how” sucks away my energy, while embracing the “why” gives me clarity and purpose.

raffle-queenAt my most very basic core, I believe in helping people feel better, stronger and happier. As long as I do a really good job of taking care of myself, I’m not only willing, but able help others. When I get stretched too thin, I become resentful and frustrated, then I’m not helpful to anyone. By taking care of myself, hopefully other’s will see that it is possible and maybe even be willing to be good to themselves as well.
The Divine supports me when I let go and just focus on doing my best.
I anticipate great things to be happening in the coming months and I look forward to being able to embrace them.
When I’m in the flow, my soul grows. :)
My husband and I are currently working on the new website and are planning on having it ready to launch by July 4th.
Until then, I’ll still post on this website and keep you up to date on what’s happening with the book and the farmers market.
(Thanks to Brenda Timmermans for this fantastic picture of me selling raffle tickets at the market last year! xoxoxo)

So what do you think, my friendly blog reader? What’s your essence look like?
I would LOVE to read your thoughts in the comments below.
Have a wonderful week!
xoxo Pam
p.s. I also got a part-time job vacuuming hallways for some friends of mine. I didn’t jump all the way off the money train!
p.p.s. I’ve also decided to use to fund my book.  I’ll be setting it up very soon and will share it with you as soon as I do, my friendly blog reader!
p.p.p.s. Thanks again for being there! I really do appreciate you! xoxoxo

In response to the stormy seas of life, my husband Blake and I have created this website to be a Current of Inspiration, a wave of love and joy to wash away hate and fear. By posting every week, it's our commitment to making our world a better place. We hope you find it uplifting and will share it with your friends! Thanks for stopping by! xoxo

I’m still working on figuring out what my essence looks like. I have had such a hard time saying no to things that feel WRONG (living where we do, focusing on my blog/business when no one really understands or believes). Maybe as I keep listening to myself, it will come. I know who I want to be, but I’m not always sure how to get there.

  2. Thanks Lana. I’m sure focusing on who you want to be is the best way to get there. It’s great to have you reading and I truly appreciate your comment.! xoox Pam
