From the Goddess Guidance Oracle Cards deck from Doreen Virtue, PH.D.
“Take some quiet time alone to rest, meditate and contemplate.”
Message: “Sshhh, dearest one. Quiet your mind. Breathe and let go of words, worry and plans. Go into that space of silence deep within you, that vortex of peace where the world doesn’t enter. Now is the time to retreat in silence and spend time alone. I’ll lovingly help you rejuvenate and recenter yourself. Don’t try to make any decisions now. Just allow your mind to be at rest. You’ll know soon enough when it’s time to take action. But for now, quiet your mind. Rest.”
So often, we’re struggling with so many responsibilities and expectations that we forget to take time out to restore ourselves.
I must admit that I’m especially prone to this, my friendly blog reader.
What I’ve learned over the years is that when I find myself feeling uptight and resentful, it’s best to stop what I’m doing. Usually a power nap, a walk around the lake with Tootsie, yoga or a few minutes in meditation will help set me back to right. The key is to actively let go of whatever I’m working on in order to restore myself.
If I ignore these stressful feelings and try to push through anyway, I end up making more mistakes and causing problems that I
end up having to fix later on. In my attempts to just ‘get it done’, I create a bigger mess than when I started. I end up hurting feelings, breaking something, or missing something of profound importance. My ego may want me to keep on going, but my soul and my Captain knows me better than that.
We all need ‘white space’ in our lives. Constantly striving to produce is a guaranteed way to burn out quickly. Think about the words on a page in a book. If the words are all crammed together, it’s impossible to distinguish what’s most important. We need white space to be able to see the true meaning of what’s being communicated. Our daily lives are very much the same. Without rest and relaxation, we’ll miss out on the really important meaning behind why we’re doing what we’re doing. There’s a lot more to being alive than just producing, or taking care of business. Our ‘lives’ ARE our business. We honor our selves and the people around us, when we take supremely good care of our souls.
Please, please, please, do yourself and everyone around you a favor and take some time to relax and restore your soul. You’ll be so incredibly glad you did.
“Take time out during the day for meditation and contemplation. It quiets the mental chatter that constantly rumbles through the brain and frees us to hear the voice of our intuition.“ Sonia Choquette
